Margaret Rose Dempsey

Dempsey, Margaret Rose, of Huntington Beach, entered eternal life on Thursday, February 9, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.  Margaret, known by family and friends as Peggy, was born July 13, 1941, in Bath, Pennsylvania to Lewis and Emma Tanzos (deceased).  She graduated from Northampton High School.  She attended the Philadelphia College of Art.  Peggy married her husband, Tony (deceased), in 1968.  In 1971 they moved to California.  Peggy worked for Bethlehem Steel, The San Diego Law Library and spent the last 20 years of her career at Boeing until her retirement in 2007. She was an accomplished artist and was a member of the Huntington Beach Art League.  Her watercolors were exhibited in Art League shows and at the library, winning numerous prizes and awards. Peggy is survived by son, Andrew; daughter-in-law, Diana; grandchildren, Lillian and Brooks; sister, Anna Pielert; sister, Helen Bartholomew; brother, Lewis Tanzos; as well as many nieces and nephews.  A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Huntington Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peggy's honor to the Huntington Beach Art League Scholarship Fund and mailed to 8591 Whitesails Circle, Huntington Beach, CA 92646.
