Bernard Barry Aguirre passed away at age 90 in Fountain Valley, California on October 9, 2017. He was born June 20, 1927 in Pico, California to Telesfor Jose Maria Aguirre and Madeline Aguirre (Barry). He attended Ranchito School in Pico.
He was married to Agnes Isabel (Degon) in 1964. His employment included agriculture cement mason, and as a construction foreman. His military service was following WWII when he was a Military Police. Following the military service he became a lifetime member of Local 600 and continued his work in road construction until he retired.
Bernard resided in Pico until 1969 when he moved to Fountain Valley with his wife and stepson, Patrick Troy.
His hobbies included a membership in a bowling league and charity work for the Catholic church.
He is survived by his son Patrick Troy, his wife Lindsey, his grandson Aaron, his sister Josephine Perez and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his wife Agnes Isabel Aguirre, his brothers Telesfor Barry Aguirre and Julian Aguirre and his sister Julia Martinez.
This beloved man always remained positive and kept his sense of humor through many hard times. He will be missed by all who knew him.
The service will be held on October 17th, 2017 at the St.Hilary Church at 5465 Citronell Ave., Pico Rivera Ca. The viewing will be 10:00 to 10:30 followed by the service from 10:30-11:30. Reception will be held at the Pio Pico Women’s Club, 9214 Mines Av, Pico Rivera from 12:00-2:00. The internment will be at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
