Bettie Louise Muellenberg, age 87, of Huntington Beach, California joined her heavenly father on Saturday, April 10, 2020 at home in the presence of her loving family.
Bettie, aka Mom and “GB” (Grandma Bettie) was born in Whittier, California to Roswell and Irene Duncan on April 27, 1933. Her mother was a beautician and she spent her early years playing in the beauty shop. She went to high school at Whittier High School. During her school years she played and later taught the Accordion and often entertained service men at the Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles. She went on to work in manufacturing and later moved into hospital business office management for Kaiser for almost 20 years. When she retired Bettie became active in the Huntington Beach Community Theater and donated her time and expertise as the business manager of the theater. She freely gave of her time and often prepared meals for the cast and crew of the shows at the Theater.
Bettie also donated her time to the American Legion Post 291 and was often involved in troop shippings. Her favorite time was to go to the Post and sit out by the water with family or friends for brunch. Bettie was also a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.
Bettie is survived by her daughter, Erin Muellenberg, son, Michael Muellenberg and granddaughters, Chelsea Rose and Chelan Wagstaff. She also leaves behind her adopted daughter Linda Frame and husband Richard Rieth and her fur child Thimblelima.
Services will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Heritage-Dilday Mortuary located at 17911 Beach Blvd HB, CA 92647. Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion, Post 291 or A Home 4Ever Rescue. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to her friends and all who knew her.
