Charles Richard Hargrave

Charles Richard (Dick) Hargrave, 93, of Huntington Beach, CA, passed away on 10/21/22 in Huntington Beach, CA.

Charles was born in Jonesboro, AR to the late Thomas Richard and Pearl Hargrave on April 16, 1929. He went to Jonesboro High School. Charles married the love of his life Willa Dean Louise Carney on October 14, 1950. Charles entered the Marine Corp on January 24, 1952 and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on January 14, 1954.

After the war, Charles and Dean settled in Huntington Beach. Charles worked for Ford Motor Co. until his early retirement at 55. He then went on to work for Westminster School District for an additional 10 years before retiring from them as well. He never really retired as he was a painter and handyman throughout his life.

Charles enjoyed traveling to Arkansas, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Laughlin, and Europe.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Dean, his parents, his brother, Bill, and his sisters, Elizabeth, Lucille, Myra and Flora. He is survived by his daughters, Patti and Denise, his son-in-law, David, and his granddaughter, Kelsey. He has numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Charles will be interred at Westminster Memorial Cemetery on November 8, 2022.
