Military: Served in Army 1966-1969, was Sgt E-5. Completed Jump school & Pathfinder school at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Was subsequently stationed in Viet Nam & later in Germany. He was part of the 1st Cavalry Division, 11th Pathfinder Company, 509 Airborne Division. He was 1 of 8 paratroopers to jump into L.Z. Moon in Viet Nam on 1/26/1967 and was part of the Exercise Deep Furrow 68, a Joint Task NATO maneuver in Greece.
He was awarded 1. National Defense Service Medal, 2. Viet Nam Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, 3. Air Medal,
4. Combat Infantry Badge, 5. Parachute Badge, 6. 2 Overseas Bars, 7. Bronze Star w/V Medal, 8. Viet Nam Campaign Medal w/device, 9. Pathfinder Badge, 10. ARCOM w/V, 11. Marksman M-14.
He worked as a driver’s training & driver’s education instructor, a sheet metal worker and a Realtor before becoming a handyman for Realtors.
Education: He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic elementary school, West Jr. High, Warren High school, Long Beach City College, Cerritos Jr. College & Calif. State University at Long Beach. He graduated with an A.A. degree from Cerritos & a B.A. degree “cum laude” from CSULB.
