Edker Lee Pope III

Edker Lee Pope III, age 88, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2022 in Huntington Beach, CA. He is survived by his previous spouses Carol Anderson and Jane Pope, his four children: Edker Lee Pope IV and Jeane Pope, Catherine Pope and Greg Warburton, Ryan Pope and Lindsey Pope, and Jennifer Pope; his grandchildren Edker Lee Pope V and McKay Pope, Alec Pope, Trevor Pope, and Henry Pope. He is preceded in death by Merlin Kastler, Blanche Pope, and Edker Lee Pope II. 

Edker was born in Monterey Park, CA to Edker Lee Pope II and Blanche Pope. He graduated from South Pasadena High School in 1951. Edker was a US Army veteran and served in the 259th Field Artillery Missile Battalion during the years of 1953-1956. His military awards and decorations include: Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), National Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. 

Edker was an entrepreneur and owned and operated a variety of businesses during his career. Most notably he owned and managed Traveland U.S.A in Irvine, CA for 20 years. Edker had a variety of hobbies and interests. He was an explorer and enjoyed traveling. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed mathematics and sciences. He was also a pilot and enjoyed flying. Edker was a patriot and loved his country. 

Edker had a tremendous sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. He was a kind and dedicated father and friend and will be missed by all.

We will be celebrating the life of Edker on July 2, 2002 at 11:00am at Heritage-Dilday Chapel, 17911 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach, CA 92647. There is limited parking in the front of the chapel and additional parking behind the building. Refreshments will be provided.
