Edwin William Coleman

Edwin “Ed” W. Coleman passed away Sunday April 23, 2017 surrounded by family.

He was born November 23, 1922 in Green Bay WI, to the late Jeremiah and Anna (Conrad) Coleman. Forever an Irishman, he had a smile and a joke for everyone he met.

He met his wife of 68 years, Virginia “Jinny” Coleman while they were working at a department store in Green Bay. They were married on August 16, 1948.

A lifelong patriot, he served during WWII on a destroyer escort. After 25 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard, he retired with the rank of Commander. His civilian career was spent in banking.

After his retirement, Ed loved to spend time with family. His weekdays were often spent tending his garden or golfing with friends. Sundays were spent in church and watching his beloved Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his wife Jinny Coleman, their four children, Jerry Coleman, Therese McNutt, Daniel Coleman, Julie Blakely, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous extended family and friends.

He will be dearly missed. Go Pack Go!
