Elizabeth Leanne Whitmire

9/14/79 - 12/6/21

Elizabeth Leanne Whitmire, leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and laughter after a lengthy battle with cancer. Her infectious warmth and exuberance for life filled the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was known for her loyalty, honesty, great laugh, and a smile that could light up a room. She was raised in Jourdanton, Texas, where she played softball and graduated salutatorian of her class. Elizabeth then moved to Los Angeles to get her BA in Classics and Religious Studies from the University of Southern California. She resided in Laguna Beach, CA, for almost 20 years, working in aerospace engineering.

Elizabeth had a love of traveling and adventures that included seeing new countries and cities, trying new gourmet foods, having a staycation at a nearby hotel, hitting a museum, or heading to Disneyland. She was incredibly smart and always game for a good story, with a great love for books, movies, and pop culture, especially Disney and Marvel.

Through her life experiences, Elizabeth’s strength was second to none — she was a fighter to the end. She will remain in the hearts of many and always be remembered. She is survived by her loving sister, Kendra Whitmire, her extended family that includes her uncles Jim Whitmire, Mike Whitmire, Michael Tassin and Wayne Whitmire; her aunts Trudy Whitmire Tassin and Dana Whitmire; her cousins Bria, Danette, Tristan, Kauli, Colton, Piper, Gwendolyn, Hudson, and Grayson; and many friends considered family. She joins her parents Truett Kenneth Whitmire, II, and Carolyn Ann Hastie Whitmire in her next great adventure.

A service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 11 am at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Pleasanton, Texas (1435 W Oaklawn Road). Wearing masks is requested.
