Erin Vukojevic

On July 2, 2021, Erin Patricia Vukojevic, née Breen, of Huntington Beach passed into eternal life at the age of 45 after a three-month battle with advanced melanoma. Erin was born on November 26, 1975, to Paul and Joanne Breen. She married Mark Karlo Vukojevic on August 9, 2003, and thereafter welcomed six children - Luke, Dominic, Lucia, Stella, Marko, and Grace. Erin is predeceased by her sister Kathleen, and is survived by her adoring husband, children, and parents; parents-in-law Marija and Milenko; siblings Stephen, Gregory, Mary, James, Megan, and Bridget, and their spouses; siblings-in-law Anna, Angie, and Mate, and their spouses; and 39 nieces and nephews.

Erin’s heart flourished in Huntington Beach. She enjoyed a childhood filled with laughter, song, shenanigans, and biking to the beach with siblings and friends. In high school, she was endearingly voted Class Clown, a tribute to her trademark humor and spunk. At Franciscan University of Steubenville, Erin earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, deepened her Catholic faith, and made the dearest of friends. She thereafter earned a Master of Science in Nursing from California State University and served as a nurse in the NICU at Long Beach Memorial and CHOC.

Erin and Mark were devoted parishioners at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Huntington Beach and St. John the Baptist in Costa Mesa. Rearing their children in the faith and family traditions was her greatest devotion. Erin was the incomparable hostess who built a home that radiated joy. She was ever ready to welcome friend or stranger with a cup of coffee and witty insight - or, for the kids, a word of wisdom, a snuggle, and a treat.

Erin’s life on this earth was far too short. But her family and friends rejoice in cherished memories that will live on and, most importantly, in knowing her soul was ever fixed on heaven, where Our Lord will "wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more." Rev. 21:4.

The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at St. John the Baptist in Costa Mesa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021, at St. Vincent de Paul in Huntington Beach.
