Eugenia "Gene" Chapman

Eugenia D'Arlene Huber Chapman, age 78, passed away from Alzheimer's on February 14th at 11:45am in Fullerton, California. She was born on June 11,1939 in Warrenton, Missouri, to Vincent and Edna Huber.

Eugenia grew up in Warrenton, Missouri, and graduated from Warrenton High School in 1957. She attended St. Louis Training School for Nurses in St. Louis Missouri in 1960 where she received her R.N. License. She continued her education in California and received her BA in Economics and Business from Chapman University as well as her Master's Degree. Her long career consisted of working for Acute Care and Long Term Care facilities as an R.N., Director of nursing, and Administrator for over 45 years.

Eugenia married Carl Fairs Chapman, M.D in 1960 at Laffite Methodist Church. They were married for 15 years and had 3 children.

Eugenia enjoyed gardening, especially roses and tulips, cooking big beautiful meals during the Holidays and she also made the best gravy! She had a love for English Royal History and china patterns. In high school, she loved playing basketball and enjoyed playing the French horn. She had a love for books and she always knew the best authors. She loved dressing up and going all out for Halloween and, most of all caring for the sick and elderly.

Eugenia is survived by her daughter Dana K. Chapman-Hicks and son in law Daryl Hicks, and granddaughter, Riley M. Hicks of Huntington Beach, California, sons Brian F. Chapman, and Alan B. Chapman, brother Marvin Henry Huber of Warrenton, Missouri, and sister-in law, Susan Huber. Also survived by her grandchildren, Natalie C. Chapman, Timothy J. Chapman, Wyatt A. Chapman, their mother, Rebecca (Becky) Stevens, Grandchild Sydney Chapman, and her mother, Sharon Chapman, her nieces, Jessica Huber Johnson, Tammy Jobe, Susan Lehmeier Walker and nephews, Jerry E. Huber, Dave Lehmeier, and Thomas Lehmeier.

Eugenia was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Vincent Huber, and ex-husband, Carl F. Chapman, M.D.
