Evelyn Nowak, 92, of Fountain Valley, passed away on October 29, 2022.
Evelyn was born on December 17, 1929, to Anton and Mary Ulijanich in Lyons, Illinois. In 1950, Evelyn met Al Nowak at a local Marine Corp Ball. Evelyn and Al went on to have five children.
She worked for many years in banking, and when she retired, she helped raise some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also worked as a Food Demonstrator at the local Costco and Sam's Club. She loved to socialize at Church and with friends. She would get coffee or breakfast with people as often as she could. She crocheted blankets for family and friends over the years. Evelyn loved to cook large meals and have her family and friends over for the holidays. She loved to play her music on her organ. Evelyn was proud of her garden and loved to sit in her backyard to get fresh air and see the beautiful sky.
Evelyn was predeceased by her Father Anton Ulijanich, Mother Mary Sergo, Step Father Joseph Sergo, Sister Anne Ulijanich, and Al Nowak. She is survived by Gary and Diane Nowak of Orange, Mike and Fran Nowak of Hesperia, Ron Nowak of Fountain Valley, Dennis Nowak of Ridgecrest, and Tom Nowak of Lake Elsinore. Also, by many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her precious cat.
A viewing will be held at Heritage-Dilday Memorial Services on November 9, 2022, at 5 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church on November 10, 2022, at 10 am. Burial will follow the mass at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
