Gary Hope Brown

Gary Hope Brown, 79, of Huntington Beach, CA passed away on March 5, 2018 at his home.

Gary was born October 22, 1938 to William Ollen and Pinkie Adelaide (Snyder) Brown.  He lived in Banner County on the family farm until he joined the Air Force in 1961.  When he returned from the Service, he left Nebraska and moved to California where he gained employment with IBM.  Gary retired from IBM in 1996 after 30+ years of service.  In 1973 Gary married Kathy Fay Reed. They had two children, Kevin Hope and Lynette Fay Brown.

Gary was very active with his children and always there for them whether it was passing on his knowledge, coaching, showing up at their games, or just playing catch in the front yard.

Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and bowling with his family. He also enjoyed woodworking. Gary loved to golf and played multiple times a week.

Gary is survived by his wife Kathy, son Kevin, daughter-in-law Lisa, daughter Lynette, honorary daughter Sarah Jarrah, and honorary grandchildren Mariah, Adam (Amalia), Sophie, Caanan, and Dayne Jarrah.

Gary was preceded in death by his sisters Helen Booker (Melvern), Dorothy Fletcher, infant sister Mary Margaret, and his brothers Harold (Ruth) and Bill (Maxine).
