Gordon Phillips

Gordon Leonard “Copper” Phillips, 83, of Huntington Beach, California, passed away on December 25, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

Gordon was born November 23, 1938, in Brighton, England to George and Nora Phillips. Gordon had a very successful career in aerospace engineering for over 50 years; retiring from NASA. He loved reading, listening to music, gardening, watching champion league football, and rooting for his favorite rugby team, Gloucester RFC. But most of all, he loved his family deeply and selflessly. He was an inspiration to them all.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Elsie; along with his children, Marie Thompson, Deborah Sims, and Stephen Phillips and his wife Tami; his brother George Phillips and his wife Glenys; his eight grandchildren, Anthony, Andrew, and his fiance Danielle, Allen, Justin, and his fiance Stephanie, Samuel, Jason, Daniel, and Natalie; and four great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Carson, Allison, and Ryder.
