Helen Hedwig Heffler

On Sunday, January 24, 2021 our beloved Mother, Mom, Helen Hedwig Heffler "Hedy" Scarlatelli, of Irvine, California passed away due to natural causes. Mom is the beloved wife of the deceased Raymond Heffler and surviving ex-spouse Nick Scarlatelli of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our loving Mother is survived by her children, Arlene, Linda, Nick and Mark.

Mark Scarlatelli, “Sarina”,

and deceased spouse Raymond Heffler, former spouse Nick Scarlatelli, surviving brother, Richard Rakowich, “Sally”, deceased brother, Walter Rakowich, “Josie”.

Surviving grandchildren are: Alex Greer, Barend Mitton, Natalie Brown, “Matt”, Olivia Alvarado, “Ben”and Zane Scarlatelli, “Julie Ann”, Troy Scarlatelli, Megan Scarlatelli and Max Scarlatelli. }

{Surviving great grandchildren are Aiden, Isabella and Lily Brown, nieces and nephews. }

Mom greatly enjoyed fashion, the arts, music, theater, The NY Times crossword puzzles, history and traveling with her family here and abroad. She was a beautiful artist and her love of family and the people she met has been captured in her extraordinary collection of photographs and sketches amassed during her travels over the years. Mom’s extraordinary collection is her “legacy of love” and a tribute to her family and friends. We will forever cherish and enjoy her expressions of love and living life to fullest and on her terms. Mom brought out the best in everyone and was loved by All, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother, nieces and nephews.

 We regret that due to Covid 19 restrictions only the immediate family is permitted to attend the viewing at the Heritage Dilday Mortuary. We do however offer virtual viewing and look forward to your joining us there. Flowers and condolences are welcome as our Mother loved you All. Please follow the protocol as  outlined in the announcement.

The immediate family will join Arlene, Linda, Nick and Mark for our Mother’s Celebration Of Life, Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Heritage Chapel Mortuary 17712 Beach Boulevard, Huntington Beach, California 9264.

At a later date, to be determined at the conclusion of the Covid 19 restrictions, we will enjoy together,

  “ Mom’s Celebration of Life”, including a Memorial Service at the Catholic Church, and a reception for family and friends to follow. We are looking forward to our being  together again as Mom’s greatest joy is being with her family, friends and loved ones.
