Henry “Hank” M. Schneider, was born to Matthias and Anna Schneider on April 8, 1927. He was raised on a farm in Turlock, California with four older sisters. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1945 and then served 2 years in the Army. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1951, with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing.
He married Marilyn DeVincenzi on January 26, 1952 and they started their life together in San Francisco. They moved to Portland, Oregon where the first 4 of their children were born and then returned to California to live in Sacramento, where their family grew by 3, totaling 5 girls and 2 boys. They had a busy life raising 7 children and Hank managed his household by always “running a tight ship” and insisting that everyone “work from a clean deck”. Finally, they settled in Huntington Beach in 1970, where they have lived happily ever since. Hank’s career was working as a contractor for commercial buildings, but his real passion was woodworking and he created many pieces that are cherished by his family. In his retirement, he enjoyed road trips with Marilyn in their RV and attending jazz festivals. He was a very active member in his church and always looked forward to his coffee and donuts after attending mass. He touched many lives and will be truly missed.
He passed away peacefully on April 22nd, 2018 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his 7 children, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
