Hugh was born February 4th 1932 in Chattanooga, Tn. To William H. Cahill and Ruby McCullough Cahill. He was preceded in death by his brother Bill Cahill March 20,2012. He is survived by his wife Marolyn Cahill (Tippi), daughter Kathleen Wright, son in law Andy Wright, son Kevin Cahill of Palm Springs, Pete Cahill, daughter in law Evelyn Cahill of Las Vegas, Kelley Cahill of Huntington Beach.
His Grandchildren are Renee McTeve, Shawn Cahill, Nicole Cahill Royea, son in law Jason Royea and Sara McWilliams.
He leaves behind Nine Great Grandchildren, Andrew, Chance,Zack, Angelina, Gabe, Keith, Piper, Lily, Jayce and Sadie.
His sister in law Karen Cahill and nephew Stephen and several nieces and nephews in Chattanooga, Tn.
His lifelong cousin, Johnny McCoullough, and Margaret McCoullough of Chattanooga, TN.
He attended Notre Dame School from first grade until he left at eighteen to join the Marine Corps. He served four years in Korea and discharged in California where he started his family.
His first job was Hughes Aircraft Plant in Culver City, White Front Stores, Burns International Detective Agency and Hugh’s Family Markets where he was director of security and loss prevention for twenty two years.
To continue following the Military he joined the USAF Auxiliary Air Search and Rescue for fifty years, rising to the rank of LTC.
He graduated from the Police Academy LASO, He worked at the Hermosa Police Department, Riverside Constables Office and Laughlin Nevada as training officer.
He was always a leader and always wanted to see what was over the next hill.
Semi-Retiring at sixty two he went into business for himself as Cahill Investigations serving as private investigator and consultant in California and Hawaii.
Two words that describe him are Leader and Integrity.
He loved camping, RVing, shooting, travel and family.
His greatest accomplishments were his four children and his loving wife of 46 years Tippi.
