Mary Marjorie Gordon (Margie) passed peacefully into the loving arms of Our Lord on the blustery morning of her 92nd birthday on Monday, October 26th, at her home in Westminster, California.
Margie was the first born of Louis and Almira Patin in Lafayette, Louisiana. After her early life in Lafayette and Baton Rouge, Margie moved to Santa Monica, California in 1946 to live with her cousins and her grandmother, and her parents and siblings came west later. She met Frank Gordon in Los Angeles and they were married in 1951. Before Margie became a parent, she was a telephone operator for Pacific Telephone & Telegraph. After her first child was born, she was a nurturing homemaker, lovingly raising her three children with great patience.
Margie was an incredibly thrifty shopper. She took great pride in feeding her family well in the most cost efficient manner possible. Margie was a loving big sister to five siblings, aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, grandmother to four, and great grandmother to two.
Margie was preceded into everlasting life by her parents, her beloved husband Frank, and two sisters (Evelyn and Sylvia). She leaves three siblings (Louis Jr., Lurry, and Linda), her three children Marl (& Cheryl), Neal (& Nancy), and Alice (& Brent), her four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Her life will be celebrated with a rosary (11AM) and a catholic funeral (noon) at St Barbara Catholic Church on November 5, 2020. There will be a burial ceremony after the funeral at Good Shepherd Cemetery, and a reception after the burial.
