MARY KATHLEEN EATON born November 26, 1937, on the evening of Thanksgiving, in Los Angeles, California, passed into Eternal Life on the evening of Easter, April 12, 2020 in Westminster, California.
Mary was the daughter of Earl and Evelyn Eaton (deceased), and the sister of Nancy Baumgartner (Tom) (deceased), Michael Eaton (deceased) and John Eaton (Maureen). Mary is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews Steve Baumgartner (Kim), Timothy Baumgartner (Julie), John Baumgartner (Ann), Terri Layn, Jim Eaton (Maureen), Kathy Marafino (Andy), Thom Eaton, Scott Eaton (Jude), Lisa Eaton, Christy Voorhees, Mike Eaton (Char), John Paul Eaton (Sharon), Megan Skelton (Chris), and Trisha Hammerland (Sean), and many great nieces and nephews.
Along with her siblings, she attended St. Anselm’s Catholic School in Los Angeles and then she attended Bishop Conaty Memorial High School. Her lifelong friendships with friends from St. Anselm’s and “The Conaty Girls” continued, with her being involved and participating in many class reunion activities.
Mary was actively employed in the steel industry and could quote the varying prices for steel like the alphabet. After retirement, Mary continued her support and participation as a Eucharistic Minister at her local Parishes, and volunteered for years at the Central Park Library in Huntington Beach and New Life Beginnings in Long Beach .
With the current pandemic, Mary will be buried following a chapel service at Heritage-Dilday chapel and a gravesite service at Calvary Cemetery on April 17, 2020 with a Memorial Mass to be scheduled in the future.
