Tribute

Patrick M. Hansen was born in Santa Barbara, CA (3rd generation), the oldest of 3 children of Marion Lloyd Hansen and Elizabeth Louise Kimberly Hansen. He had two younger sisters Elizabeth Louise (Betty) and Juanita (Nita). He died in Fountain Valley, CA on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at the age of 81. 
After graduating from Santa Barbara High School in 1957, he went to Duke University for a year and then came home to graduate in 1961 from the University of California Santa Barbara with a BS in History. He then went to Stanford Law and decided he was not cut out to be a Lawyer. He started working for Pacific Telephone, married a UCSB sweetheart and they had 3 daughters: Mary Kathleen (Molly), Elisabeth Anne (Lisa) and Jennifer Christine (Jenny). They divorced in 1979.
He worked for Bullocks Wilshire and then for Kaufman & Broad in their Information Systems. He was Vice President of IS at Ponderosa Homes in Irvine when he was introduced to Lynette Doty by mutual friends. These friends had tried for about a year and half to get them together. They were formally introduced on May 23,1981 at a dinner given by these wonderful friends, Marilyn & JB McGuire. Lynette had one daughter Tiffani Rochelle. Patrick & Lynette were married in Fountain Valley, CA on April 3,1982 and JB was Patrick’s Best Man. They remained best friends as couples and the ladies are still in contact to this day.   
Patrick returned to school in 1988 and earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology. He became an Executive Coach and was quite successful. He made several lasting friendships as a result of this work. 
Patrick was a wonderful person, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was intelligent, kind and loving with not a mean bone in his body. His faith was very strong, and he loved his church family. He had an infectious smile and a great sense of humor. He adopted Tiffani in 1990 as their relationship had grown strong. 
Patrick and Lynette were able to travel to Sicily, Italy and Ireland. They went to Indianapolis & Seattle for Sweet Adeline Conventions and visited family in Ohio, Illinois, Colorado, Oregon, No. California. They enjoyed camping in the earlier years and traveled throughout the state.    
Patrick was preceded in death by his father Marion, his mother Elizabeth, and his sister Betty. Patrick is survived by his wife and 4 daughters, 13 grandchildren (Nicolle, Kaity, Hayley, Patrick, Anne, Maggie, Ethan, Emma, Christian, Claire, Brady Kathleen, Sam, and Will, and 3 great grandchildren (Harper Leigh, Jameson(James), and Jacob).
