Susan Huntley

Susan Theresa Huntley, age 62, passed away on the morning of Wednesday December 18, 2019, in Huntington Beach, CA. She was born in Glen Cove, New York to Zygmunt Arthur Gadzinski and Catherine Mary Gadzinski on March 20, 1957. She is of Polish decent with her dad having immigrated from Poland just after WWII. She followed in her dads example, and studied many foreign languages and graduated from David Starr Jordan High School class of 1975 specializing in language and writing.

Susan worked in the banking industry having many responsible positions with her final position being a bank auditor working for an independent auditing firm covering Los Angles and Orange counties. She met some of her greatest friends forever at the Sears Savings Bank.

She was deeply involved in the Community United Methodist Church Huntington Beach, being hostess of church events, assisted in worship services, worked with the acolytes, and supported the music program.

Susan was an avid animal lover and had a large diverse set of pets though out her life; birds (parakeets, cockatiels), rabbit, duck, cat, hamsters, tortoise, many fish, and of course dogs ( many as a child and a later a Bullmastiff [Higgins] and two Pugs [Toe Pick, and her most loved Ramses]. In fact, her love of animals extended to her backyard where she hung feeders for the hummingbirds and placed protection around trees housing their nests.

However, Susan’s greatest love was of her two children Marianne Marie and Adam Mathew of which she was a highly involved mother and a mother of no equal.

Susan is survived by her two children Marianne and Adam, husband Douglas, several nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and younger brother John.

The memorial service will be held at the Community United Methodist Church at 6652 Heil Ave. in Huntington Beach, CA 92647 on January25th,2020 at 11:am.
