Walter O. Valles was born on August 8, 1921 in New Bedford, MA of John E. and Virginia S. Valles. He was devoted to his mother, siblings and later his wife, children and grandchildren for his entire life.
Walter served in the US Army during WWII primarily in the Pacific including Okinawa. He met his wife on a blind New Years Eve 1953 and married 9 months later.
Walt retired from Otis Air Force Base, MA in 1978, moved his family to California and then worked for the Fountain Valley School district until final retirement. He enjoyed travelling with his wife visiting family which included 16 siblings and in-laws, 55 nieces and nephews, and his immediate family. Walter is survived by his wife Pauline, sons Kenneth (wife Bonnie) and Kevin (wife Dorian), grandsons Timothy and Thomas, sisters Estella Pires and Ilene Fernandes.
A rosary service will be held on Friday October 18th at Heritage-Dilday Memorial Services, 17911 Beach Blvd. Huntington Beach, CA from 6 to 8 pm. A memorial Mass will be held on October 19th at 8:30 am at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church at 8345 Talbert Ave, Huntington Beach, CA with burial at Good Shepherd Cemetery (adjacent to church) following the Mass. A reception will follow at the Claim Jumper in Fountain Valley.
